Ryan-Biden Debate

Hi to all of you out in cyberland

My name is Joe B and I am out to make a fool of myself in tonight's debate.  I hope you like my teeth, cause I am going to show you them a lot tonight.  All my liberal friends, including many in the media, will tell you that I won the debate at the end of the night.  But much of  the American public will  conclude  that they are not comfortable with having me only one heartbeat away from being president.  I can just see ol' Barry  (that is easier for me to say than Barack) squirming when he watches me trying to belittle young Mr Ryan.  I will call Ryan my "friend" a lot and openly sneer when he is talking and shake my head and roll my eyes and even laugh out loud.  (that is LOL to you kids under my age of nearly 70 out there.)

Then I will interrupt him and just generally try to get him rattled by my obvious superiority. I mean I am not just older, but I am wiser, and I have nicer teeth.  The viewing public will get to see all that tonight.  It is true that I am generally knowledgeable about most of the issues we will be discussing, but I am going to let my demeanor overshadow that.  I am not going to be rude, but I suppose there will be those few on the fringe that will think I am.

The ones I really want to get to are the undecided voters....the ones we need to  persuade to vote for me and Barry.   They will see my obvious superiority over that young cub.  I don't care if he does stay calm and on track.  I don't care if he does have facts and figures just like mittens did when he debated Barry.  My charm and good looks and nice white teeth will win them over.  You just watch.  So what if I am derisive and disrespectful.  I am the king and everyone will know when I get done humiliating him.  You watch.  You will see.

If you don't like what you see tonight, you can just take your vote and go someplace else.  I sure hope Barry appreciates what I am going to do for him after his dismal performance against Mitt Romney.  I will get that Ryan kid with my smirk!!  It is my ultimate weapon!  He will just fold up when he sees that!!

Epilogue

The BBC website said-  "Mr Biden may have won on points, perhaps, but his manner may have put off some undecided voters.
He was stronger, more agressive, more certain of his position- but chuckled, smiled, laughed, grinned at his opponent in a way that was certainly condescending and some will have found irritating."

A number of polls after the debate gave the edge to Ryan, but Biden is credited with "doing his strategic job" of providing much needed energy to the Obama campaign.

Do You Shop at Walmart???

If so, you are in the super-majority of people in this country.   And you too contribute to overseas jobs.

Depending on whom you consult and whether groceries are included, from 50 to 80% of all goods sold in Walmart are produced in China.

So anyone who buys at Walmart should take part of the blame that those who oppose romney are trying to put on him (and others) for "shipping jobs overseas."

Seems like we are ALL GUILTY, including most Democrats not just Republicans!!

I think I understand it now

Editor's Note:   This seems to be a "memo to self" written by somebody important.  Apparently this person hopes to remain important for awhile, so this memo helps him clarify his thinking.  RB

I have come a long way from my humble beginnings, though I am not quite sure what my beginnings were.  I keep hearing these rumors, but I tell myself and all those around me not to believe them.

This "foreign policy" thing just really bothers me.  I don't really understand it, but I don't think he does either.  I sure hope not, or the foreign policy debate is going to make me look even worse than I did last Wednesday night.  Oh, was that a tough night.  That guy had those facts and figures right at his fingertips.  He was prepared and I was not.  Of course, I have a whole country to run, so how can anyone expect me to know what is going on.  Real soon now, I have to personally decide which terrorist we should next attack and take out.  And now all these people in Syria are getting even more excited and somebody is shooting over into neighboring Turkey for god's sake.  (Note to self: do not capitalize God so you don't upset some of your liberal supporters or those who claim a different god than the one upon whom our country is founded.)

Anyway, I gotta get this straight, so I can get re-elected.  I mean, my little girls need a home for four more years.  And my wife, after all the years we lived in poverty, deserves four more years of expensive travel with a large entourage and lots of nice clothes.  She has earned it.

BTW, those Navy Seals sure did their job didn't they.  Except for that one who wrote a book about it.  There went a few more million dollars in royalties that I could have had.  After all, it was me who personally ordered them to get that guy.  I was ready to help with the detailed planning and training too, but I am kind of afraid of guns.  Why do you think I wanted to get out of Chicago so badly.  Lots of murders going on there.  Old Rahm is not doing a very good job on that front.

OK, so we have Syria, and Libya, and Iran, and Egypt.  Oh yeah, Pakistan and Afghanistan (What am I going to do about that Afghan war.  I am sure glad they have not tried to pin that one on me.  I am slippery, but I don't know if I could sneak out of responsibility for what is going on there.  I mean we are trying to help them be good soldiers, and they are just shooting us in broad daylight.  Don't they know who we are??)   Libya ---- I have to watch that investigation so it doesn't sneak up and bite me in the tail.  Someone might think I personally made the decisions that allowed those folks to kill our Ambassador.  One thing I do know is that is is good to bow deeply to everyone over there.  That way they know that we want to be subservient to them, so they will leave us alone.  I mean they deserve much more than just a courtesy head nod like all those other "western" leaders give them.

And then there are those Chinese.  I am not sure what to make of that.    It looks like their economy is slowing down.  I think that is good, but not everyone agrees with me.  I mean it will keep them from getting too powerful, won't it??

I think I sure am glad I have Hillary.  I think Bill is glad too, at least he tells me how lucky I am to have Hillary on my team.  Bill is happy, Michelle is a little jealous, and I am not sure I trust Hillary anyway.   She called me a lot of names four years ago.  How much does she know about foreign affairs anyway.  I know she knows about affairs, but foreign affairs....???

Anyway, just four more weeks of living surrounded by half truths, innuendos, and lack of my own true knowledge of what I am doing and then I can live in luxury and bliss for four more years.

I think I understand it now.  I think I understand it now.  I think I do ...... I think I do ......   I think I do..... I think I can....  I think I can ....   I think I can.....      Oh, wait.      That is the Little Engine That Could.        That was such a good book.   But that Little Engine got it all wrong.    It cannot do anything without Government help and guidance!!!!

Vote for me please!!!       And, if you are in Chicago, vote early and often!!

Update ---- Don't Believe the Rumor!!

The reprimanded school boy is going to ask for his teleprompter for the next debate.  I think it is just a rumor, but my friend Walt noted this morning that without his beloved teleprompter, PresO looked lost during the debate.

PresO is a crafty politician and you can bet he will have a better game for the next one.

Thunder in the West

I heard it last night.  At first I thought it was a train approaching from the West.  (We live near the tracks of an Illinois Central  "farm route" which deadends in Minnesota, so we have about one train a day).

But no, it was not a train.  It was the sound from Denver of Mitt Romney's debate win over PresO.

Most reasonably impartial observers are calling Mr. Romney the winner of last nights presidential debate.  My wife, who likes Romney's politics but not his image, called it a draw, with an edge to Romney.  Though committed to voting for Romney, she was one of those who had (has) a soft spot for PresO (PO) because he is "so nice."  Last night helped move her further into the Romney camp because he seemed "real", even if not "real nice."

(But, she did not like Romney's smile as he watched PO talk.  Personally, I thought PO, when he put his head down while Romney was talking, looked like a school boy who had been caught and was being reprimanded by his teacher.)

To the extent that my wife represents those who needed to be won over or solidified by the debate, Mr Romney did his job!

No more Mr. Nice Guy!     (see post of Sept 19)
